Traits Guide
"One of the most important things you'll need to know in the field are differences between traits and afflictions on various types of Djubetos. And of course, the terms associated with it - there are a lot of interchangeable terms used within your field of study, bzzt!"

Using Items...⟳

One thing you'll be coming across a lot of in your journey is items. Since Djubetos can alter their genetic material at will, they are able to splice
these items with their own DNA through their bodies or through consumption. This works for any item - biological or manmade. Each trait item you
acquire can be applied to a Djubetos of any subtype / rarity. Keep in mind that they are single use though, unless specified otherwise, and
will disappear after use.
When using an item, you'll need to make sure that you have both the item already in your inventory and a valid character or MYO slot to apply it to.
You can apply items to existing designs or MYO slots by utilizing 'design updates'; you can read the design update guide here!
Items can be acquired from shops in any world you visit, as well as completing missions! Some traits are also obtainable through raffles or events, or random giveaways from staff on the Discord.

Inherent traits...⟳
⋮ Info
Inherent traits, or basic traits, are a small set of traits that are naturally built into the Djubetos DNA spectrum. All Djubetos possess these: they include
things like the default shape of their feet, to the shape of the external bone structure on the standard tail, etc.

These traits don't have specific items attached to them - they can't be bought in any shops. Instead, these are automatically available and can be freely
added upon creating your Djubetos design! When reapplying or swapping out any basic traits, you can just submit a claim in order to do so.

Mutations...⟳

⋮ Info
Mutations, also commonly called "mods", are body modifications that common Djubetos can consume or apply to themselves to gain
varying effects. Mods can be obtained through legal (or illegal) means, such as treatments, or they can even be gained through the consumption
of different items. Some consumables are synthetically created and commercially marketed, but some can be found through exploration, even growing
wild on bushes or trees depending on the type of consumable.

Anomalies...⟳
⋮ Info
Anomalies are a subtype of Djubetos that are naturally born with mutations, usually either due to their parents passing on a mutation
of their own or the paralarvae's DNA randomly splitting during their development inside their egg due to how unstable it is.
While exceedingly rare for spacebounds, these natural adaptations are becoming increasingly more common to see within societal Djubetos because of the
rising prevalence of the body modification market.
Anomalous spacebound Djubetos are often claimed by natural selection without outside intervention because of the difficulties they may face in space
if their mutations interfere with their ability to survive. Even a Djubetos born with the basic reptilian feet have a superior advantage to one born with more
animal-like paws.

Afflictions...⟳
⋮ Info
Afflictions are akin to diseases or certain conditions your Djubetos can contract. They're a little more serious and tend to be physically altering in some
way, and some of them can even be passed onto others. They often affect the entire body, and can cause life-changing alterations. Unlike mutations,
afflictions are caused by things outside of genetic changes. This could be the body's reaction to a toxin, a parasite, or even a disease that can occur naturally
in Djubetos under specific conditions. Regardless, afflictions are big changes and should not be taken lightly!
Oddly enough despite these conditions, some of them are considered desirable to obtain, or even fashionable for some of them. Some can even
affect pets as well as djubetos. It's a great selling point in the underground market since there are some creatures willing to go to unholy lengths to
acquire specimens like these to gain the affects of these afflictions. This could be for cosmetic reasons or other things, as some afflictions may
give their victims odd abilities.
Afflictions are just like mutations in how they can be applied! The effects ARE more serious and altering though (such as the huskworm
"killing" the djubetos) even though you can still remove them normally, so think carefully before applying and removing them!
