Traits
Cordinanis Spores (Rare)
Consumption of the cordinanis mushroom causes plant and fungal growth to grow across the body. These plants may or may not stray from Earth biology, and may appear inside and outside of the body.
These growths can fully envelop and replace certain body parts like limbs, tail, or horns. However, they cannot fully replace the head without the addition of the object head trait.
Obtainable via the odd mushroom item.
Polycephalic Amalgamation (Scarce)
A character is born as a set of fused twins. May include up to two additional appendages (not heads) that do not belong to either twin in addition to a set of appendages that belongs to each twin.
Obtainable via Breeding Affliction.
Paralarval Countenance (Uncommon)
The face never developed, leaving a djubetos with the skeletal face of a paralarva permanently. The face may have bone, or gooey exposed muscle. The tail may be underdeveloped (weak bones) and the skin can be any shade of purple, blue, gray, or a normal human skin tone. Djubetos with this defect tend to be incredibly aggressive.
Obtainable via Breeding Affliction.
Nanite Infection (Scarce)
The infection of a djubetos egg or growing fetus by a nanomachine virus that converts the developing paraleva's flesh to machine. Depending on the time of infection, the hatched djubetos's condition could range from ball joints, to a flesh covered android, to being fully robotic, inside and out. In recent years, a pill has been produced that contains a variant of this virus that is able to convert existing flesh to machine, allowing for grown characters to also acquire this affliction.
Characters with this affliction do NOT need the metallic texture trait to have shiny skin.
Obtainable via the nanotech pill item.
DIV (Djubetos Immunodeficiency Virus) (Uncommon)
A chronic condition caused by a djubetos-specific virus. This virus is transmittable by blood and runs rampant in the cannibalistic gourmet circles tucked away deep in the heart of Pandora. Djubetos with this disease heal much more slowly than normal djubetos (or not at all) and are often held together by stitches while they wait for wounds to heal. As it's an immunodeficiency disease, victims also tend to become ill more often than a normal djubetos.
There are medications that djubetos can take that speed up healing and lessen the effects of this disease.
The effects vary, some djubetos will still heal and regenerate lost limbs, but at a much slower rate than normal djubetos. For some victims, healing and regeneration come to a near or total halt.
Obtainable via the Infected Ichor item.
Prionic Infection (Uncommon)
It's rabies, guys... it's just rabies,,,
This disease does not kill the host, but causes them to have occasional episodes of delirium and aggression. Eyes may or may not turn a single blank color during flareups.
Obtainable via Cerebral Fluid item.
Digital Transcendence (Scarce)
A character has fully uploaded themselves, body and mind, to technology. Their body now appears as a hologram and they can "jump" into screens to enter the digital world. They no longer have a physical form and can only fully interact with the real world by "possessing" technology and android avatars.
Obtainable via Master Computer Keycard item.
Rift horns (Mythical)
The character is born with vesushikain crystals (photons) embedded inside their horns. This allows for them to manipulate qikkain (the radiation from a djubetos's tail) to control the elements with practice. These horns also allow the character to engage in parallel jumping - opening a wormhole and traveling between other dimensions.
This is a lore bound trait and is not obtainable via ordinary gameplay.
Unstable Actuality (Scarce)
This djubetos's very existence has been corrupted by a fracture in the dimensional wall, causing them to "glitch", with cracks and shimmers of wormhole crossing over their body on occasion, appearing as a glitch effect.
Frostwork (Mythical)
This condition causes a character to have trouble regulating their body temperature to the point where it's dropped to subzero. This causes the character to form never-melting growths of ice and frost on their body. Their breath may turn frosty, and their body may form an icy shimmer.
Gravitational turbulence (Mythical)
This affliction occurs when the gravitational field around a character is disrupted. It causes small objects to become trapped in the character's gravitational field and orbit around them. These objects shouldn't be larger than the character's head, but there's no other limit to what they may be, as they are simply things that the character has come close enough to to trap.
Textile taxidermy (Rare)
After exposure to a type of rot only found in miskept taxidermy, victims of this disease may find that their skin takes on an almost fabric texture, and may even find material similar to stuffing under their skin. This affliction causes a character to have fabric or cloth textured parts of their body, and may cause parts of their body to form stuffing inside and visible stitching, causing those parts to take on the appearance of a plush toy.
Ocular vicissitude (Rare)
This affliction causes a character's cornea to respond rapidly to changes in stress hormones and endorphins, causing the appearance of the eye to change based on mood. With this affliction, the character may have one "default" eye appearance and up to four alternate appearances that change based on emotion.
All eye traits that appear must be unlocked and applied properly.
This is separate from the alter ego trait, and each character form may have its own sets of eyes.
Noctilucar illusions (Uncommon)
Small lights float around the character, giving them a twinkling or "firefly" effect. This is caused by a bacterial infection that causes the character to shed bioluminescent particles. This disease has no known negative symptoms and is actually coveted in some cultures.
Dullahan disunion (Scarce)
This affliction causes the character's head or limbs to detach from the body and float. They may either float near the location that they grow from, or they may be deliberately left behind somewhere. They can be effortlessly detached and reattached, and the character retains full sensation in them. It is unsure what exactly causes this condition, but it's believed that it may be caused when someone suddenly loses access to a grounding object, place, or person and their body starts separating as a physical representation of their detachment from reality.
Distemper (Uncommon)
This affliction only affects wourgi and miauvi. It causes the character's head to take a large mammalian feral form under periods of stress. Flareups are also aggravated by the light of a full moon. This disease is caused when the character is cut or pricked by the thorns of the moon blooming witchthistle plant that can be found on the dark side of Muunvitus. The toxins from this plant react to strong moonlight and cause the victim's body to have a unique allergic reaction that causes their form to shift.
(1) Heat resistance (Fire)
Allows for the character to touch and resist high heat. This allows for them to touch things straight out of the oven, eat super hot food, and even walk through fire.
(1) Warming (Fire)
Allows for the user to raise the temperature of their body or another's or warm an area around them.
(1) Ignite (Fire)
Allows for the user to create a small flame in their hands. This can be used to light things on fire or produce a small amount of warmth. The flame, if not set down onto a fuel source, will die quickly once it leaves the user's hands.
(1) Smokescreen (Fire)
The user breathes or spits out a cloud of black or white smoke. The smoke is hot to the touch and dissipates quickly. The smoke can leave behind soot if enough of it touches something.
